Ratings: CBS’ “Limitless” Doesn’t Wow But Builds on “NCIS: New Orleans” Lead-In

Final Ratings Update: Tuesday’s “Limitless” series premiere posted a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating with 9.857 million total viewers.

While the demo rating is not spectacular, it bests that delivered by the show’s lead-in. Airing in the 9PM slot, “NCIS: New Orleans” posted a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating (with 12.616 million total viewers).

“Limitless” was its timeslot’s #2 program in adults 18-49. It bested ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” but trailed NBC’s “The Voice”-assisted “Best Time Ever.”

CBS’ lineup opened with “NCIS” (2.5, 18.191 million).
=====================

While CBS’ “Limitless” was not an objectively strong performer in adults 18-49, it did manage to build on its “NCIS: New Orleans” lead-in.

Per fast national data, Tuesday’s premiere drew a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating with 9.76 million viewers.

It was its timeslot’s most-watched broadcast network program. Its adults 18-49 rating was the 10PM hour’s second-greatest; NBC’s “The Voice”-assisted “Best Time Ever” drew a stronger 2.2.

“Limitless” aired out of the aforementioned “NCIS: New Orleans.” While the “NCIS” spin-off drew a larger overall audience (12.49 million viewers), it only posted a 1.7 in the key demo.

The “NCIS” mothership opened CBS’ night with a 2.4 rating and 17.69 million viewers.
