Pop Evil’s “Footsteps” Reaches #1 at Active Rock Radio; Elle King Stays #1 at Alt

After spending two weeks in the runner-up position, Pop Evil’s “Footsteps” completes its journey to the top of the rock radio mountain.

It grabs the #1 position on this week’s Mediabase active rock airplay chart.

Spun 2,110 times during the September 13-19 tracking week (+220), “Footsteps” dethrones Shinedown’s multi-week #1 “Cut the Cord.” That song, which spent seven non-consecutive weeks at #1, slips to #2 on this week’s chart (2,089 plays, +10).

Five Finger Death Punch’s “Jekyll and Hyde” (#3, = | 1,801, +68), Highly Suspect’s “Lydia” (#4, = | 1,499, -151), and Disturbed’s “The Vengeful One” (#5, = | 1,474, -126) complete the Top 5.

— While the active rock chart features a changing of the guard, Mediabase’s alternative airplay listing again features Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” in the top spot.

King’s breakthrough hit earns its third-straight week atop the chart. It received 2,763 plays during the official tracking week (-19).

X Ambassadors’ former #1 “Renegades” returns to #2 this week (+1) on the strength of its 2,738 weekly spins (+19). Cold War Kids’ “First” (#3, -1 | 2,728, -116), AWOLNATION’s “I Am” (#4, +1 | 1,999, +94), and The Struts’ “Could Have Been Me” (#5, +1 | 1,950, +52) also appear in the Top 5.
