Maddie & Tae’s “Start Here” Debuted With 23.7K First Week Sales

While it was unable to seize the Top Country Albums throne from Luke Bryan’s “Kill The Lights,” Maddie & Tae’s “Start Here” posted a very respectable first week sales total.

According to Nielsen Music, “Start Here” moved 23,682 complete albums during the August 28-September 3 tracking week.

Comfortably stronger than the opening week marks achieved by the recently released debuts from Michael Ray, Kelsea Ballerini, A Thousand Horses, and Canaan Smith, the tally earns “Start Here” the #2 position on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

The aforementioned “Kill The Lights” led the country genre with 37,970 weekly sales.

With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album equivalent unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album equivalent unit) included, “Start Here” earned a first week consumption total of 27,880 units.

That total positions the album at #7 on the consumption-oriented Billboard 200.
