Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman” is about to dance into the top 5 at hot adult contemporary radio and top 10 at pop.
The track, which is the second official single from the band’s “American Beauty/American Psycho,” received 3,154 Hot AC plays across the first four days of the August 30-September 5 tracking week. Up 5.8% from last week’s mark, the count earns “Uma” the #4 position on Mediabase’s building Hot AC chart.
It will have no trouble retaining a Top 5 spot over the tracking week’s final three days. It was #7 on last week’s official chart.
“Uma Thurman” also received 6,096 pop plays during the first four days of the current tracking week. That tally bests last week’s mark by 14.5% — and earns the song the #9 spot on Mediabase’s building pop airplay chart.
Facing no imminent threat from beneath the Top 10, the song will surely retain its position over the next three days. It may even overtake Skrillex & Diplo’s fading “Where Are U Now (with Justin Bieber)” to claim #8 on the official chart.
“Uma Thurman” grabbed the #11 position on last week’s official pop chart.
While bigger at alternative radio — and on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100 — previous “American Beauty/American Psycho” single “Centuries” was less successful at Hot AC and pop radio. It peaked at #9 on the former format and #12 on the latter.
