Ratings: “Best Friends Whenever” Adds Viewers, “Austin & Ally” Falls

Unlike the previous week’s episode, Sunday’s “Best Friends Whenever” was not positioned against the “Teen Choice Awards.”

Predictably, it enjoyed a week-over-week viewership increase.

Sunday’s edition of the freshman Disney comedy drew a 0.29 adults 18-49 rating with 2.030 million total viewers.

The performance indicates the extent to which the TCA impacted the show’s youth (sub-18) audience. This week’s adults 18-49 rating actually trails last week’s 0.30, but the viewership total substantially exceeds that episode’s 1.669 million mark.

— Lead-in “Austin & Ally,” which was off last week, did not enjoy the same episode-to-episode growth. This week’s episode drew a 0.26 with 1.943 million total viewers. Airing on August 9, the previous installment managed a 0.42 rating with 2.173 million audience members.
