Frankie Ballard’s “Young & Crazy” Claims #1 at Country Radio

For the third straight time, Frankie Ballard holds the top spot on the Mediabase country radio singles chart.

Ballard’s “Young & Crazy” will this afternoon be named the new #1 song on Mediabase’s chart. It seizes the throne from Zac Brown Band’s “Loving You Easy,” which sinks to #7 on this week’s listing.

Sam Hunt’s #2 “Take Your Time,” Dustin Lynch’s #3 “Hell of a Night,” Thomas Rhett’s #4 “Crash and Burn” and Chris Janson’s #5 “Buy Me a Boat” complete this week’s Top 5.

Not simply the leader in Mediabase chart points, “Young & Crazy” also ranked as country radio’s most-played and most-heard song during the August 16-22 tracking week. It scored a format-leading ~8,482 weekly spins (+454) and a format-leading ~56.079 million weekly audience impressions (+2.963).

Final spin and airplay data will be issued later Sunday, but the revisions will not affect the song’s status as the week’s #1 song.

Ballard previously topped the Mediabase chart with fellow “Sunshine & Whiskey” singles “Helluva Life” and “Sunshine & Whiskey.” Both also reached #1 on the corresponding Billboard Country Airplay chart; “Young & Crazy” will learn if it did when that chart goes to print Monday night.
