Shinedown’s “Cut the Cord” Holds #1 at Rock Radio; Breaking Benjamin Goes Top 10

Shinedown’s smash “Cut the Cord,” which is still gaining airplay, earns a third week atop the Mediabase active rock airplay chart.

This week’s #1 position comes courtesy the song’s ~2,073 tracking week spins (+128). It again edges Disturbed’s “The Vengeful One,” which amassed ~1,976 plays during the August 2-8 tracking period (+149).

Pop Evil’s “Footsteps” repeats as the format’s #3 song (~1,741, +60), while Five Finger Death Punch’s “Jekyll and Hyde” and Highly Suspect’s “Lydia” follow at #4 and #5. The two songs, which swap last week’s positions, received ~1,586 (+169) and ~1,583 (+83) plays, respectively.

While the Top 5 does not welcome any new arrivals, the Top 10 does feature a new addition.

Breaking Benjamin’s “Angels Fall,” that song, rises three places to #9 on this week’s chart. It received ~1,017 tracking week plays (+168).
