Shinedown Stays #1 at Active Rock Radio; Highly Suspect, Five Finger Death Punch Top 5

A massive week-over-week airplay gain allows Shinedown’s “Cut the Cord” to repeat as #1 on Mediabase’s active rock airplay chart.

The track received a format-leading 1,945 plays during the July 26-August 1 tracking week. That count bests last week’s total by an unmatched 214 plays.

“Cut the Cord” thus does not simply rank as the week’s #1 active rock song — it is also the week’s greatest airplay gainer.

Disturbed’s “The Vengeful One,” once again holds the runner-up spot. It received 1,827 weekly plays (+161).

Pop Evil’s “Footsteps” rises one place to #3 on the strength of its 1,680 weekly spins (+142), while Highly Suspect’s “Lydia” (#4, +2 | 1,500 spins, +45) and Five Finger Death Punch’s “Jekyll and Hyde” (#5, +3 | 1,417, +95) complete the top five.

The Highly Suspect and Five Finger Death Punch songs are making their inaugural Top 5 appearances.
