The reign of “Bad Blood” is officially over.
In its place atop the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart is now OMI’s “Cheerleader.” The song, which was #2 on last week’s chart, claims #1 thanks to the ~18,576 spins it received during the July 26-August 1 tracking week (+668).
The song’s rise to pop’s apex comes as “Cheerleader” holds at #2 on the Mediabase rhythmic airplay chart and #10 on the Mediabase hot adult contemporary chart. It rises to #20 on the adult contemporary listing.
Thanks to its ample, multi-format airplay and strong sales and streaming activity, “Cheerleader” is currently enjoying its third stint atop the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100.
Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” which spent six weeks at #1, slips to #3 this week (~16,962 spins, -1,051). That slip allows The Weeknd’s surging “Can’t Feel My Face” to reach #2 on this week’s pop airplay chart. Up one place, it received ~17,781 tracking week spins (+945).
Fifth Harmony’s hit “Worth It (featuring Kid Ink)” rises one place to #4 on the strength of its ~14,509 spins (+278), while David Guetta’s “Hey Mama (featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack)” falls one spot to #5 (~13,051, -2,150).
