While the tracking week has only just begun, early data suggests Jill Scott’s “Woman” could rank as the week’s best-selling new album.
According to Hits Daily Double, the opening day sales performance puts “Woman” on track to move 40-45,000 copies during the July 24-30 tracking week.
Currently the highest forecast, the total does not widely separate “Woman” from the rest of the pack.
Lamb of God’s fellow newcomer “VII: Sturm und Drang” is close behind — and in an overlapping range. Hits pegs an opening week total in the 38-43,000 range.
Other notable newcomers include the “Southpaw” soundtrack (~30-35,000) and Bea Miller’s “Not an Apology” (~21-24,000). The “Southpaw” number is subject to significant change based on the film’s impact with audiences.
