Tyrese’s “Black Rose” Pacing for 50-55K Sales; R5 on Track for 30-35K

Of the albums released on the inaugural global release Friday, Tyrese’s “Black Rose” is generating the most interest in America.

According to Hits Daily Double, “Black Rose” is on track to move roughly 50-55,000 pure copies during its first week of release.

The inclusion of Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) should produce a first week consumption total of 55-60,000 album equivalent units.

Because sales trajectories may differ in accordance with the new Friday release day, Hits cautions that the estimate is subject to an atypically large margin of error.

“Kidz Bop 29,” which also entered the market Friday, is expected to sell 40-45,000 traditional copies. With TEA and SEA included, it will generate a consumption total of 41-46,000.

Other new music Friday releases include R5’s “Sometime Last Night” (~30-35,000 sales | 33-38,000 total units) and Owl City’s “Mobile Orchestra” (~15-18,000 sales | 17-20,000 total units).

In accordance with the new Friday release system, Billboard’s album sales charts will adhere to a Friday-Thursday sales tracking week. The Top Album Sales chart featuring the aforementioned albums will measure sales between 7/10-7/16 and be published on 7/20. Hits’ sales report should emerge that weekend; official Billboard data for the top ten albums should emerge on 7/19.
