Last week’s “Game of Thrones” was the least-watched and lowest-rated episode since the third season finale.
This week’s episode delivered even weaker numbers.
Airing on the eve of Memorial Day, Sunday’s “Game of Thrones” drew a 2.53 adults 18-49 rating with 5.40 million viewers. Both numbers are the lowest drawn by a season five–or season four–episode.
They also notably trail those of last week’s then-two-year-low broadcast, which drew a 3.14 rating with 6.24 million viewers.
This week’s installment was the first since the second season to air on the Sunday before Memorial Day. That airing, too, suffered a decline from its previous broadcast.
Due to the deflated demo performance, “Game of Thrones” actually slipped to second among this Sunday’s cable programs. The NBA Playoffs game drew a stronger 2.87 rating with 7.76 million viewers.
HBO’s other programs:
“Silicon Valley” – 0.84 with 1.60 million viewers, versus a 0.84 with 1.54 million last week
“Veep” – 0.50 with 0.98 million viewers, versus a 0.43 with 0.82 million last week
