Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good” had already established a strong presence on iTunes, but a performance during Wednesday’s “American Idol” prompted an additional surge. By 2AM ET–one hour after the west coast “Idol” broadcast came to a close–Grammer’s hit was up to #2 on the iTunes sales chart.
Only Wiz Khalifa’s seemingly untouchable “See You Again (featuring Charlie Puth)” appears higher on that all-genre listing.
Even more noteworthy than the song’s positional jump, however, is its increase in pace. Per real-time tracking data, “Honey, I’m Good” is currently selling about 55% faster than it was prior to Wednesday’s “Idol.”
Grammer performed “Honey” alongside finalist–and eventual winner–Nick Fradiani. The two also performed Grammer’s song “Back Home,” which is up to #59 on the iTunes chart.
Other “Idol” numbers with prominent positions on iTunes:
— Fradiani’s coronation single “Beautiful Life” is #4.
— Steven Tyler’s “Love is Your Name” is #19.
— Runner-up Clark Beckham’s “Champion” is #31.
— Vance Joy’s “Riptide” is #43.
— Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries” is #47.
— Prince Royce’s “Back it Up (featuring Pitbull)” is #53.
— Pitbull’s “Fun (featuring Chris Brown)” is #57.
— Janelle Monae & Jidenna’s “Yoga” is #61.
