Ratings: The CW’s “iZombie” Rises This Week; “The Flash” Improves In Demo (Updated)

Update: Suboptimal circumstances did not prevent last week’s “iZombie” from holding steady in the adults 18-49 demographic and nearly matching its previous viewership total.

More appealing ones helped The CW’s freshman drama post week-over-week gains this week.

Airing out of an original “The Flash” and against NBC’s modestly rated comedies, Tuesday’s “iZombie” drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 1.85 million viewers. The adults 18-49 rating matched the series high, which was set by the March 17 premiere.

Last week’s episode, which followed a “Flash” re-run and faced an extended “The Voice,” drew a 0.7 rating with 1.78 million viewers.

Back after last week’s break, “The Flash” also enjoyed episode-to-episode improvement in the adults 18-49 demographic. This week’s episode posted a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating with 3.67 million viewers.

The previous original, which aired on March 31, drew the same 3.67 million viewers but a demo rating of 1.3.

While last week’s “iZombie” episode was technically its least-watched on record, it was actually its most impressive performer. Despite airing out of a “The Flash” re-run rather than an original and facing NBC’s flagship “The Voice” rather than its modestly rated comedies “Undateable” and “One Big Happy,” it mirrored its predecessor’s adults 18-49 rating and endured a minimal week-over-week viewership loss.

Last week’s challenges were not in play this week. “iZombie” led out of an original edition of “The Flash” (1.3, 3.50 million) and aired against NBC’s comedies.

It bested last week’s performance. Per fast national data, “iZombie” drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 1.98 million viewers.

Barring a downward adjustment in the finals, the demo rating will tie the pilot’s series high demo rating. The viewership tally would register as the best since the second episode aired on March 24.
