The Offspring’s “Coming for You” Hits #1 at Rock, Mumford & Sons’ “Believe” Holds at Alt

Over the past few weeks, The Offspring’s new single had made it clear it was coming for the active rock radio throne.

This week, it seizes that throne. “Coming for You” grabs the #1 position on Mediabase’s active rock chart.

Attributed to its 1,847 tracking week spins, the rise of “Coming for You” displaces Foo Fighters’ “Congregation” from the top spot. The multi-week #1 actually slips to #3 this week (1,619 spins). The Pretty Reckless’ “Follow Me Down” jumps one place to #2 on the strength of its 1,780 tracking week spins.

Zac Brown Band’s “Heavy is the Head (featuring Chris Cornell)” (1,589 spins) and Halestorm’s former #1 “Apocalyptic” (1,483 spins) claim the #4 and #5 positions, respectively.

— While active rock radio features a changing of the guard, alternative radio belongs under the auspices of last week’s winner.

Mumford & Sons’ “Believe” repeats at #1 on the strength of its 2,630 weekly spins. AWOLNATION’s “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” holds at #2 with 2,415, while Death Cab for Cutie’s “Black Sun” surges three places to a new peak of #3. It received 2,109 spins during the most recent tracking week.

Robert DeLong’s “Long Way Down” and Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” hold at #4 and #5 with respective spin counts of 2,007 and 1,981.
