Tailor-made for buzz and viral consumption, Madonna’s endearing “Classroom Instruments” rendition of “Holiday” had nothing on the scope and theatrics of her second “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” performance.
Featuring a backstage start, interaction with the live crowd and ample choreography, Madonna’s rendition of “Bitch I’m Madonna” was considerably elaborate for a late night talk show setting. In introducing the performance, an impressed Jimmy Fallon outright called it the best ever delivered on his “Tonight Show” sound stage.
The live take on “Bitch I’m Madonna” closed a “Tonight Show” episode that was centered on the iconic entertainer. In addition to the pair of performances, Thursday’s “Tonight Show” also featured an interview with Madonna and her tongue-in-cheek attempt at doing stand-up comedy.
The episode also featured Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, but his appearance merely served as a brief bridge between Madonna’s stand-up bit and her show-closing rendition of “Bitch I’m Madonna.”
A video of her performance follows:
