Ratings: Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards Show Declines Sharply This Year

While it still represented a strong Saturday cable performer, the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards broadcast suffered significant year-over-year declines in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

This year’s edition of the annual Nickelodeon awards show drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 3.63 million total viewers. Last years’s episode, which aired on the corresponding 2014 weekend, posted a 1.1 rating with 5.03 million total viewers.

Despite the steep decline, the KCAs remained one of the evening’s biggest cable draws. Like last year, its adults 18-49 and total viewership marks only trailed those delivered by TBS’ two NCAA basketball games.

Its 1.82 rating in the core females 12-34 demographic, meanwhile, topped that of the earlier basketball game (1.13). With a 2.48 F12-34 rating, the 8:40PM basketball game was the only Saturday program to outdraw “Kids’ Choice” in that demographic.

Nick Jonas hosted this year’s edition. Mark Wahlberg led the 2014 festivities.
