From getting to perform in front of millions to getting to perform alongside Blake Shelton and Lynyrd Skynyrd, there was nothing modest or ordinary about Craig Wayne Boyd’s transformation from “The Voice” hopeful to “The Voice” winner.
There is also nothing ordinary about his first appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
In addition to receiving the mere honor of appearing on the show, CWB gets to sit-in with accomplished in-house band The Roots.
And he gets to do so on an episode that features three other instantly recognizable, immensely respected music industry names.
The winner of NBC’s “The Voice” found himself on the same late night show as three of music’s most recognizable names.
Originally set to feature “The Interview” stars James Franco and Seth Rogen, NBC was forced to re-assemble its Wednesday night “Fallon” when Sony canceled the duos promotional appearances (before canceling the release of the controversial film altogether). NBC secured Paul McCartney, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga to fill the void.
Craig Wayne Boyd, winner of the seventh US “The Voice” competition, therefore gets to sing on a show that features McCartney, Bennett and Gaga.
First look photos from the taping are available below (as of press time, NBC had not yet supplied photos of Bennett and Gaga):
