Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild might be singing about her “Girl Crush,” but country radio clearly has a Little Big Town crush. The group’s new single impacts as the country format’s most-added song.
According to Mediabase, “Girl Crush” received support from 49 monitored stations this week. That represents a healthy start for the song, which aims to follow in the airplay chart-topping footsteps of its predecessor “Day Drinking.”
Not simply a strong performer at country radio, “Day Drinking” also reached the top forty on the all-encompassing, all-genre Billboard Hot 100. It was only the second LBT song (after 2012’s “Pontoon”) to achieve the feat.
A full adds report is due Monday evening. It is expected to also reveal a strong count for Josh Dorr’s new “Save Your Breath.”
