A significant digital sales increase played a major role in sending Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It also sent the song back to the top of Billboard’s Digital Songs chart.
Swift claims #1 on the single sales chart courtesy the 328,000 paid downloads it received during its third week of release. #2 on last week’s sales chart (with 164,000), “Blank Space” reached the apex two weeks ago in conjunction with the launch of Swift’s “1989.” It moved 155,000 copies that week.
In addition to rising to the top of Billboard’s Digital Songs listing, Swift’s “Space” also grabbed the throne on the publication’s Streaming Songs chart. Owing significantly to the buzzworthy music video launch, “Blank Space” claimed #1 on the strength of 19.2 million US streams.
Only Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” which scored 32.1 million first-week streams, had a more significant week of streaming this year.
