Frankie Ballard’s “Sunshine & Whiskey” to Claim #1 at Country

Frankie Ballard is about to score his second #1 at country radio.

“Sunshine & Whiskey,” the follow-up to blockbuster “Helluva Life,” is set to claim #1 on the Mediabase country airplay chart, which goes to print this Sunday. The song is also a solid bet for the #1 position on this coming Monday’s edition of the Billboard Country Songs chart.

“Helluva Life” claimed #1 on both charts earlier this year.

Ballard’s song will assume the throne from Blake Shelton’s “Neon Light,” which spent a single week atop both the Mediabase and Billboard charts.

Per the latest edition of Mediabase’s rolling chart, “Sunshine & Whiskey” already claims an advantage of 241 spins (7,636 vs. 7,395 during the November 7-13 tracking period) and is expanding on that lead with each passing day.

Beyond “Sunshine & Whiskey” and “Neon Light,” this week’s top five will also include Little Big Town’s “Day Drinking,” Keith Urban’s “Somewhere in My Car” and Maddie & Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song.”
