Single Sales: Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” Hits #1 with 155K

By now, the world knows that Taylor Swift’s “1989” debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart thanks to an opening week tally of 1.287 million.

Swift also claims the top spot on the Digital Songs (single sales) chart. Album track “Blank Space,” which has since been confirmed as the second official single from “1989,” opens atop the listing with first-week sales of 155,000.

“Blank Space” allows Swift to reclaim dominance on the single sales chart. Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” last week’s leader, slips to #2 on the strength of 133,000.

Maroon 5’s “Animals” follows at #3 with 110,000, while Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” claims #4 thanks to 105,000 sales. Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High),” which is now the number one song at pop radio, is #5 on Digital Songs with 79,000.

Debuts claim the next three spots with Nicki Minaj’s “Only (featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown)” starting at #6 (76,000), Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life” owning #7 (74,000) and Taylor Swift’s “Style” landing at #8 (74,000).

Jason DeRulo’s “Trumpets” (#9, 72,000) and Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” (#10, 71,000) round out the top ten.
