Calvin Harris’ “Motion” Climbs Album Sales Chart, Taylor’s “1989” Still Leads

After scoring a seven-figure sales count last week, Taylor Swift’s blockbuster “1989” is due for a six-figure second week.

With interest still so immense, it naturally continues to reign atop the iTunes Album Sales chart.

Its lingering presence prevented Calvin Harris’ “Motion,” one of the week’s highest-profile new releases, from cruising to the top spot upon debuting Tuesday. As of press time, “Motion” had only gone as high as #2 on the iTunes chart.

Sam Hunt’s “Montevallo,” which was last week’s #3 seller overall (and a steady #2 performer on iTunes), currently holds the #3 spot on the leading digital retailer’s album sales chart. Bette Midler’s “It’s the Girls” claims #4 on the album sales chart, while Teyana Taylor’s “VII” is at #5.

The Vamps’ “Meet the Vamps” is at #6 and thus ahead of NOW 52 (#7), Joe Budden’s “Some Love Lost” (#8), Jake Miller’s “Lion Heart” EP (#9) and The Foo Fighters’ “Sonic Highways,” which is currently in its pre-order phase (#10).

As far as buzzworthy releases go, one notably slow mover–at least thus far–is Maddie & Tae’s self-titled EP. The four-song set, which spawned top ten country hit “Girl in a Country Song,” was only at #177 as of press time.
