“SNL” Ratings Hit Season High for Jim Carrey, Iggy Azalea Episode

Representing a return from a one-week hiatus, this weekend’s edition of “Saturday Night Live” delivered the best ratings of the current season.

The episode, hosted by Jim Carrey with musical guest Iggy Azalea, drew a 4.1 overnight household rating*. The number bests the 4.0 drawn by the season premiere (Chris Pratt and Ariana Grande) and the 3.9 (Sarah Silverman and Maroon 5) and 3.8 (Bill Hader and Hozier) posted by the subsequent two episodes.

Saturday’s “SNL,” meanwhile, drew a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters. Not merely the best of the four showings this season, the number reflects the best “SNL” performance since it drew the same rating for the April 5, 2014 episode (Anna Kendrick and Pharrell).

The last episode to score a better rating was the Jim Parsons-Beck installment on March 1, 2014.

Next week’s “SNL” features host Chris Rock and musical guest Prince.

*Metered market data for Portland and Seattle was not included in Saturday’s calculation.
