Ratings: NBC’s “Marry Me” Starts Decently Out of “The Voice” (Updated)

Update: NBC’s “Marry Me” launched to decent numbers Tuesday night.

The comedy, which stars Casey Wilson and Ken Marino, drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating with 7.5 million viewers.  While the two numbers trail those drawn by last spring’s “About a Boy” premiere in the timeslot (2.5 rating, 8.4 million viewers), they came following a considerably weaker edition of “The Voice.”

The March 4, 2014 edition of “The Voice,” which led into the timeslot premiere of NBC’s “Boy,” drew a 4.1 rating with 14.53 million viewers.  This week’s “The Voice” only managed a 3.4 with 11.9 million viewers.

On the subject of “Boy,” it began its second season with a 1.7 and 5.83 million viewers at 9:30PM.  “Chicago Fire” then closed NBC’s evening with a 1.9 and 7.1 million viewers.

While adults 18-49 data is required to make a complete assessment, the overnight metered market numbers paint a promising picture of NBC’s “Marry Me” premiere.

Leading out of Monday’s “The Voice,” which drew an 8.3 overnight household rating, NBC’s new comedy delivered a 5.6 at 9PM. Better than the 5.1 delivered by previous timeslot occupant “About a Boy” when it aired its first post-“The Voice” original on March 4, 2014, the solid overnight number foretells a similarly solid performance in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

“About a Boy,” which now airs out of “Marry Me” at 9:30PM, posted a 4.2 overnight household rating for its second season premiere.

NBC closed its night with “Chicago Fire” (4.8).
