For an act as firmly on the radar as Lady Antebellum, an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” is as much about celebrating success, adding a drawing card to NBC’s program and providing fans with a chance to see the band perform in a unique setting it is providing exposure.
When millions watch Wednesday’s edition of “Tonight,” virtually none will be encountering Lady A for the first time. Many, however, will enjoy seeing the trio playing one of its records in a television environment.
If all goes well for the act behind recent country number one “Bartender,” some viewers might also opt to purchase the new “747” album, which hit shelves Tuesday.
But no matter the outcome, the act does appear as Wednesday’s musical guest, and that in and of itself will delight the mainstream country trio’s support base.
Taped Wednesday, Lady Antebellum’s “Tonight Show” performance follows host Jimmy Fallon’s interviews and skits with Jennifer Garner, John Mulaney and the Wallkill Mighty Mite Panthers.
NBC’s promotional photos from that taping follow (as does a video of Lady Antebellum’s “Bartender” performance). The broadcast airs at 11:35PM ET.
