Update: Supporting the 150-170,000 forecast, Billboard says that Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” is on track to sell “over 160,000” in its first week of release.
Like predecessor “Yours Truly,” which moved 138,000 copies in its debut frame, “My Everything” will reign atop the weekly album sales listing.

Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” will debut atop next week’s Billboard 200 album sales chart, but it will do so with an underwhelming sales number.
Based on current tracking, Hits Daily Double forecasts an opening week total in the 150-170,000 range. Roughly triple the anticipated tally for Brad Paisley’s new release “Moonshine in the Trunk,” the expected count only bests that of Grande’s predecessor “Yours Truly” by 8-23%.
Considering the extent to which Grande’s profile has exploded in 2014, that album-to-album gain comes across as rather modest. Grande’s single “Problem,” after all, claims the year’s second-best debut week sales total.
Unremarkable in that context (and in the context of fan enthusiasm), the “My Everything” number is nonetheless consistent with what industry insiders were expecting in advance of Monday’s release. A 150-200,000 estimate began circulating last week.
