The world’s worst-kept secret is no longer a secret. Taylor Swift announced on Wednesday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that she will perform at the August 24 MTV Video Music Awards.
Industry sources had already said Swift agreed to perform at the show, but neither MTV nor Swift had officially commented on the matter until Wednesday.
Swift changed that Wednesday, when she told “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon that she will be performing at the annual MTV music video awards show.
Open about the fact that she will perform, Swift was nonetheless tight-lipped about what the performance will entail. All indications, however, are that she will perform the new single that is expected to bow during Monday’s Yahoo! Live Stream.
Other confirmed performers include Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea (with Rita Ora), Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, Maroon 5 and Beyonce.
