Confirming Iggy Azalea’s note about earning a sixth week atop the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard revealed Wednesday that the rapper’s pop smash “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” reigns atop this week’s Hot 100 chart.
In scoring its sixth week at #1, “Fancy” gives Azalea the longest Hot 100 reign for a female rapper in history. Lil Kim, the previous record holder, led the chart for five weeks as part of the “Lady Marmalade” collaboration with Christina Aguilera, P!nk and Mya.
Azalea does, however, have to endure a mild dose of bad news this week. Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” on which the rapper is featured, slips to #3 on the Hot 100.
Seizing the runner-up spot is MAGIC!’s “Rude,” which continues its effort to reach #1. Still rising at a time when “Fancy” is beginning to lose steam, “Rude” stands a reasonable chance of closing the 14-point chart gap in the coming weeks.
Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” repeat in the #4 and #5 positions, respectively.
There are no additional changes on this week’s edition of the Hot 100: Jason DeRulo’s “Wiggle (featuring Snoop Dogg)” (#6), John Legend’s “All of Me” (#7), Calvin Harris’ “Summer” (#8), DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What (#9) and Pharrell’s “Happy” (#10) all maintain their positions.
