It is unclear whether they are singing it in their showers, but millions of listeners are enjoying Becky G’s breakthrough single on their radios.
With 3,101 spins at pop radio over the seven days ending July 1, Becky G’s “Shower” ranks as the #25 song on the latest edition of Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart.
According that report, “Shower” garnered 13.95 million audience impressions over the seven day period. Responsible for 1.36 million impressions, San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW made the largest individual contribution to the song’s audience total.
Thanks to its increasing airplay, the release of its video (see below) and a presence within the Top 30 on the iTunes Single Sales chart, “Shower” is likely to enjoy gains on upcoming editions of Billboard’s Hot 100. It reached #55 on last week’s edition of the chart.
— While it is not yet in the top 25, Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” is making an even more furious rise on the airplay chart. Currently the #28 song at pop radio, the song, which is supported by iHeartRadio’s On the Verge program, enjoyed a spin increase of 1,154 (to 2,245) during the measured seven day period.
It is the sixth-fastest rising song on the chart, and, thanks to its support from major market stations, actually reached a larger audience than the Becky G song. Its impression count for the seven days ending July 1 was 17.09 million.
— The top five risers are Maroon 5’s #14 “Maps” (+1,940 spins), MAGIC!’s #5 “Rude” (+1,880), Charli XCX’s #22 “Boom Clap” (+1,564), Sam Smith’s #7 “Stay With Me” (+1,479) and Nico and Vinz’ #3 “Am I Wrong” (+1,425).
— Notable songs beneath the Top 40: Chromeo’s “Jealous (I Ain’t With It)” (#41), Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” (#45), Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” (#47), and Kiesza’s “Hideaway” (#49). The latter two songs are making particularly substantial gains.
