America is latching onto another song featuring sensation Sam Smith.
Disclosure’s international smash “Latch,” which features vocals from the red-hot Sam Smith, has officially reached the top ten of Mediabase’s rolling Top 40 airplay chart. Sam Smith, whose solo smash “Stay With Me” is due to soon enter the Top 10, was also featured on Naughty Boy’s top ten hit “La La La.”
With 9,118 spins pop radio spins, “Latch” was the format’s 10th-most-played song for the seven days ending June 22.
With 64.31 million impressions, it garnered the format’s eighth-largest audience.
Still rising, it will quickly pass Rixton’s declining “Me and My Broken Heart” for ninth place on the chart. It should also be able to overtake Katy Perry’s #8 “Birthday” and DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s #7 “Turn Down for What.” While the former is currently at a standstill on the radio, the latter is rapidly falling.
Other moves:
— MAGIC!’s “Rude” rises to a new peak of #6. It is the format’s third-fastest-riser behind Maroon 5’s “Maps” and Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong.”
— With 4,866 pop radio spins, Maroon 5’s “Maps” was able to reach #18 after just one week of availability.
— While Demi Lovato’s “Really Don’t Care (featuring Cher Lloyd)” expectedly overtook Jennifer Lopez’ “First Love,” it was blocked out of the Top 20 this weekend by Maroon 5’s “Maps.” It will, nonetheless, advance into that spot when it overtakes KONGOS’ “Come With Me Now.”
— Lorde’s “Tennis Court” enters the Top 25 at #24.
— Trey Songz’ “Na Na” enters the Top 30 at #28.
— Becky G’s “Shower” enters the Top 30 at #30.
