Making good on the weekend projection, Paramore’s “Ain’t it Fun” has officially reached the top ten of Mediabase’s rolling Top 40 airplay chart.
The Paramore track, which last week became its highest-charting song on the Hot 100, jumped to #9 on the Mediabase chart. The latest Mediabase chart tracks airplay for the seven days ending April 27.
Still rising, “Ain’t it Fun” will soon pass Bastille’s declining “Pompeii” (#8).
Other Top 40 notes:
— Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing,” which recently reached the chart’s top five, is preparing to go even higher. Still gaining spins at a rapid rate, “Bad Thing” is now within striking distance of Katy Perry’s declining “Dark Horse (featuring Juicy J),” which currently holds the #4 position.
— Thanks to a decline for Demi Lovato’s “Neon Lights,” American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life” has cruised to a new peak of #6.
— Ed Sheeran’s “Sing” (#14) and Katy Perry’s “Birthday” (#24) remain the format’s top two airplay gainers.
— Currently #41, Afrojack’s “Ten Feet Tall (featuring Wrabel)” will imminently charge past The Chainsmokers’ “#SELFIE” to reach the #40 spot. While My Crazy Girlfriend’s “Crazy Stupid Love” (#42) is also on the cusp of an entry into the Top 40, One Direction’s rapidly rising “You & I” (#44) will get there first.
