Update: NBC’s “Believe” Ratings Hold Steady

Update: Even with last week’s showing in the overnights, NBC’s “Believe” also held steady in the fast national ratings.

Like the previous airing, this week’s “Believe” drew a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating in the fast nationals. Also like the previous airing, it is enjoying a slight inflationary impact from a basketball pre-emption in the Portland market.

An adjustment for that pre-emption brought last week’s rating down to a 1.1 in the finals. It is unclear if this week’s episode will face the same revision.

According to the fast national data, the episode attracted 4.9 million viewers.

Also on NBC: “American Dream Builders” (0.7, 3.1 million), “Dateline” (1.1, 6.1 million) and “Crisis” (1.0, 4.0 million).

For the third consecutive week, NBC’s freshman drama “Believe” avoided a decline in the overnight metered market ratings.

After rising from a 2.8 to a 3.1 two weeks ago and from the 3.1 to a 3.3 last week, “Believe” held stable with a 3.3 overnight household rating for this week’s episode.

A sign that “Believe” has found a core audience (and one that “Dateline” is a more desirable lead-in than previous 8PM occupant “American Dream Builders”), the ball is now in NBC’s court to determine if that core audience warrants a second season renewal.

Last week’s 3.3 overnight rating translated into a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 4.66 million in the finals.

— Up 0.1 from last week’s series low, “Crisis” posted a 2.6 overnight household rating. Last week’s 2.5 translated into a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 3.73 million viewers.

NBC offered “American Dream Builders” (1.9) and “Dateline” (4.0) earlier in the night.
