Benefiting from its debut on the shelves at Starbucks–and the Easter holiday–the “Frozen” soundtrack scored its best sales tally yet in the week ending April 20.
259,000, that impressive weekly sales figure, helped “Frozen” easily score an eleventh week atop the Billboard 200 album sales chart.
In possession of the most non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 since Adele’s “21” enjoyed 24 stints on the throne, the soundtrack has moved more than 2.3 million cumulative copies.
Unable to contend with “Frozen,” August Alsina’s “Testimony” nonetheless ranked as the week’s strongest debut (and the number two album overall). According to Billboard, its weekly sales count was just shy of 69,000.
NEEDTOBREATHE’s “Rivers in the Wasteland” followed in third place with 49,000 sales, while Jason DeRulo’s new “Talk Dirty” (44,000) and Ingrid Michaelson’s “Lights Out” (37,000) closed out the top five.
Also in the top ten: Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” (33,000, #6), Pharrell’s “G I R L” (33,000, #7), Lorde’s “Pure Heroine” (26,000, #8), 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect” EP (26,000, #9) and NOW 49 (22,000, #10).
