ABC’s “Resurrection” Ratings Again Slide in the Overnights

Update: Down a tenth from its performance in last week’s comparable fast nationals and two tenths from its final number, this week’s edition of ABC’s “Resurrection” settled for a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating.

A low for the series, the adults 18-49 number was still strong enough to reign as network television’s best in the 9PM timeslot.

The episode attracted an average of 7.1 million viewers.

ABC’s other Sunday offerings included “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (1.3, 5.71 million), “Once Upon a Time” (1.9, 6.3 million) and “Revenge” (1.3, 5.1 million).

Still one of ABC’s top performers on Sunday–and easily its biggest dramatic launch this season–“Resurrection” remains a contender for a second season renewal.

But it is just as consistent in its pattern of turning away live viewers on a weekly basis. Sunday’s episode, the series’ sixth, endured another week-to-week decline in the overnight ratings.

After slipping to a 5.0 last week, “Resurrection” this week settled for a 4.6 overnight household rating. While it remains likely to defeat its network competition in adults 18-49, its margin of victory will pale in comparison to that achieved in its first few weeks.

Earlier in the night, ABC offered “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (3.3) and “Once Upon a Time” (4.0). “Revenge,” now in its third season, closed out the evening with a 3.4.
