Update: Its overnight household rating might have been down, but its more crucial adults 18-49 rating enjoyed a nice gain.
Thursday’s “Scandal” jumped to a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating with 9.01 million viewers. The adults 18-49 rating is the show’s best since its return from hiatus on February 27.
As expected given its overnight dominance, “Scandal” was the night’s most-watched and top-rated program.
Earlier in the night, ABC offered “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” (1.0 3.35 million) and “Grey’s Anatomy” (2.6, 8.42 million).

Down a tenth from last week’s number, the overnight metered market rating for ABC’s “Scandal” still ranks as Thursday’s best.
Aggressively promoted as the “Grant family reunion,” Thursday’s episode posted a 6.7 overnight household rating. Lead-in “Grey’s Anatomy,” the night’s number two program in the overnights, trailed with a 6.2.
Whether the show’s victory in the overnights carries over to the adults 18-49 demographic hinges on the skew of NCAA’s college basketball coverage. CBS’ broadcast of Thursday’s “Sweet 16” games drew a 5.5 overnight household rating.
Prior to airing its strong “Grey’s” and “Scandal,” ABC flopped in the 8PM hour with low-rated “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” (2.4).
