Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” Still Number One, “Happy” Hits #2

Pharrell’s “Happy” currently reigns over Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse (featuring Juicy J)” on the real-time iTunes single sales chart, but the latter juggernaut remains the song to beat on the definitive Hot 100.

According to Billboard, the song reigns over the Hot 100 for a third consecutive week. Numbers two and three on Billboard’s Radio Songs and Streaming Songs charts, respectively, “Horse” spent the past week at number one on the Digital sales and Streaming Charts.

In extending its Hot 100 reign to three weeks, “Dark Horse” can declare itself the best-charting single from Perry’s “PRISM.” Lead single “Roar” only led the Hot 100 for a pair of frames.

Fueled by a surge to number two on the Digital sales chart (a surge that might take it to number one this week), “Happy” advances to two on Billboard’s overall measure.

Not yet dominant on charts like Radio Songs and Streaming Songs, where it is positioned at numbers ten and eleven, respectively, “Happy” trails “Dark Horse” by a whopping 30% in Billboard’s Hot 100 chart calculation.

Jason DeRulo’s “Talk Dirty (featuring 2 Chainz)” follows at number three, while A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera’s “Say Something” and Passenger’s “Let Her Go” complete the top five. The former owes its 7-4 ascent to 4-year-old Jackson Blitch’s viral reaction to the song, while “Let Her Go” advances 6-5 on the strength of its inclusion in a key Budweiser Super Bowl ad.

The rest of the top ten: Pitbull’s “Timber (featuring Ke$ha)” (6), OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars” (7), Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love” (8), Lorde’s “Team” (9) and Bastille’s “Pompeii” (10).
