NBC has just over a month to build significance around its impending late night lineup shift. It got the ball rolling on that ambitious effort this weekend with teasers for the new “Tonight Show” and “Late Night.”
The former, to be hosted by current “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon, debuts on February 17. As Fallon prepares to take over the slot from Jay Leno, NBC is promoting the storied legacy behind the most recognizable name in late night talk.
The latter, to be hosted by “Saturday Night Live'”s Seth Meyers, debuts one week later. Thus far, NBC’s promotional approach has been far more lighthearted – the first teaser finds Meyers touring his dramatically incomplete new studio.
