On a weekly basis, one was almost always able to find negatives in the ratings performance of E!’s “Total Divas” reality series.
But on a holistic basis, the series, which follows seven WWE Divas and their relationships inside and outside of the ring, was a major success for the cable network.
In a press release touting its successful 2013, E! confirmed that “Divas” ranks as its second biggest series with viewers adults 18-49.
With an average of 836,000 weekly viewers in the 18-49 bracket, the first season of “Total Divas” trailed only fellow E! series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” (1.6 million) in the demographic typically deemed most important to advertisers. (Editor’s Note: It appears E! is not treating “Kourtney & Kim Take Miami” as its own series. Ratings for the third season, which aired from January-April 2013, reveal it, like the “Kardashians” mothership, drew stronger ratings than “Total Divas”)
The top cable reality series in its timeslot among persons 18-34 and women 18-34, “Divas” attracted an overall weekly audience of 1.3 million to reign as E!’s most watched freshman series since 2011.
“Total Divas” returns for its second season this March.
