“The Tonight Show” Kicks Off 2014 with Plain White Ts, McCain, Louis CK

More than simply the first “The Tonight Show” episode of 2014, the January 6, 2014 broadcast also commences the final month of Jay Leno’s tenure on the show.

Leno, who hosted the show from May 1992 to May 2009 and then from March 2010 onward, will officially pass the “Tonight Show” torch to Jimmy Fallon in February.

And to kick off the last month of his run–and another year in late night talk–Leno will welcome an interesting group of guests.

According to press release from NBC, sitting beside Leno’s desk on Monday, January 6, 2014 will be comedian Louis CK, Senator John McCain and daughter Meghan McCain. Plain White Ts will serve as the night’s musical guest.

Though it has yet to confirm any additional musical guests for the week of January 6, NBC did reveal the various interview guests in its Tuesday press release:

Monday, January 6 – Guests include Louis C.K., Sen. John McCain & Meghan McCain with musical guest Plain White T’s

Tuesday, January 7 – Guests include Mark Wahlberg, Jeff Foxworthy

Wednesday, January 8 – Guests include Steve Carell, Kathryn Hahn

Thursday, January 9 – Guests include Leslie Mann, David Koechner

Friday, January 10 – Guests include Kevin Bacon, Sherri Shepherd
