After the first true live results show, only two “X Factor” teams remain intact.
Those teams–the Girls, represented by Demi Lovato, and the Boys, represented by Paulina Rubio–survived Thursday’s results show, which waved goodbye to two members of the Top 12.
Following Wednesday’s abysmal, 80s-themed performance show, in which even critical favorites struggled to stay in tune and find comfort on stage, no one seemed immune from elimination. But when push came to shove, none of the presumed frontrunners faced the ax Thursday.
Instead, Simon Cowell’s group Sweet Suspense and Kelly Rowland’s Over 25 Rachel Potter waved goodbye. The former, the act with the least votes, went home immediately. The latter lost a sudden death playoff to Khaya Cohen, who was in the week’s bottom three.
Only ten remain in the competition; the surviving finalists are as follows:
Girls: Rion Paige, Ellona Santiago, Khaya Cohen
Boys: Josh Levi, Carlito Olivero, Tim Olstad
Over 25s: Jeff Gutt, Lillie McCloud
Groups: Restless Road, Alex & Sierra
