“Mom” Rides “Big Bang Theory” Lead-in to Ratings Gain

Airing against an encore of “Sleepy Hollow” and out of a compatible “The Big Bang Theory” re-run, CBS’ “Mom” made its first ratings gain of the season.

Though its early numbers (as are all CBS ratings for Monday) are inflated due to an NFL pre-emption in the Minneapolis market, a portion of “Mom”‘s 20% ratings gain will almost certainly remain intact when the final numbers are revealed Monday afternoon.

That gain, which surely motivated CBS to breathe a sigh of relief after giving the show a back nine order, brought “Mom” to a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating with 7.8 million viewers. Its “Big Bang Theory” lead-in posted a 2.5 with 8.5 million.

Earlier in the night, CBS aired “How I Met Your Mother” (2.9, 7.9 million) and “2 Broke Girls” (2.6, 8.1 million). Later in the night, it broadcast 10PM flop “Hostages” to a 1.4 with 5.8 million.
