“The Crazy Ones” Ratings Slide Again, “The Millers” Dips Slightly

Update: Of CBS’ four comedies, only “The Crazy Ones” suffered a notable ratings decline Thursday.

Veteran bookends “The Big Bang Theory” (4.9 adults 18-49 rating, 17.2 million) and “Two and a Half Men” (2.3, 9.03 million) each dropped a tenth from last week’s comparable Fast National numbers, while 8:30PM entry “The Millers” only fell by two-tenths (to a 3.1 with 11.9 million).

“The Crazy Ones,” however, fell by 17% to a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating with 9.9 million.

Though all CBS comedies technically endured ratings losses Thursday, it was newcomers “The Millers” and “The Crazy Ones” that suffered the more notable drops.

Supported by a relatively-stable “The Big Bang Theory” (down 3% to an 11.1 overnight metered market rating), “The Millers” fell eleven percent to a 7.4 metered market number, reports TV Media Insights.

While an 11% loss is considered a modest, if not desirably-light, decline from a series premiere, “The Millers” will be subject to some criticism over its retention rate. With lead-in support from “The Big Bang Theory,” it arguably has the most plum spot of any comedy on television, and that positioning comes with the burden of high standards.

9PM entry “The Crazy Ones” declined again Thursday, this time by 15% to a 6.4 metered market number. Though at least a portion of this week’s drop can be attributed to stronger competition from “Glee” and weaker help from “The Millers,” “Crazy” will need to settle quickly in order to cement its value to CBS’ Thursday lineup.

Veteran “Two and a Half Men” delivered a 6.1, which marked a 6% drop from the prior week’s rating.
