“The Bridge” Ratings Update; Series Hits Viewership Low After Renewal

After securing a second season renewal this week, “The Bridge” was immune to most dire consequences of a viewership decline this week.

Good thing, too, because it again experienced audience shrinkage.

FX’s acclaimed freshman drama matched last week’s 0.6 adults 18-49 but attracted only 1.34 million viewers. Down from last week’s 1.50 million, this represented yet another viewership low.

Up against the season premieres of network procedurals “CSI” and “Law & Order: SVU,” the cable series was expected to suffer a viewership decline. Knowing that, FX made it clear with the second season renewal that a drop this week would not play a role in the show’s future.
