E! and WWE issued a press release in support of “Total Divas” Thursday, in the process confirming the various romantic relationships that will be chronicled on the show.
Though it will not focus exclusively on romance, the reality show, which launches its eight episode run on July 28, will not shy away from its cast members’ love lives.
In introductory statements on the seven featured Divas, the press release offers romantic characterization for six of them.
In addition to referencing public, well-documented relationships, including those between Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan, Natalya and Tyson Kidd and Naomi and Jimmy Uso, the press release also notes, “Outside the ring, Nikki has been sustaining a secret, steady relationship with one of the biggest names in WWE history. For the first time, the couple will open up about their personal lives.”
A clear reference to her gossip-worthy relationship with WWE Champion John Cena, it appears the show will indeed explore their romance.
While it notes that Cameron is dating a man outside of the wrestling world, the press release makes no such mention of new Diva Eva Marie’s fiancee Jonathan Coyle. It does, however, reveal that the newcomer engages in serious flirtation with Fandango, teasing, “The budding bombshell also makes her presence known to the male Superstars when she flirts relentlessly with fan favorite Fandango.”
The release makes no mention of any romantic partner for fellow new Diva Jo-Jo Offerman.
