MTV’s “Catfish” Ratings Fall to Series Low

Whether due to the lack of lead-in support in its new timeslot, declining buzz or, more likely, a combination of both, MTV’s “Catfish: The TV Show” has not wowed in its first two second season episodes

Though last week’s numbers were solid by cable standards and in-line with the typical season one performance, they did not reflect surging interest in MTV’s buzzworthy reality series.

And this week’s ratings actually reflect fading interest in the series; Tuesday’s new episode attracted a series low viewership tally of just 1.76 million. It posted a soft 1.0 adults 18-49 rating, which while still respectable against MTV’s primetime average, fell short of ratings achieved by numerous competitive cable broadcasts.
