Michelle Chamuel Already Set to Win iTunes Bonus on “The Voice”

Update: As expected, Michelle Chamuel’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” remained in the top ten through the end of the weekly voting period and thus earned the Team Usher singer a 10x multiplier on the song’s iTunes count.

At number four when the voting closed at 10AM, Chamuel’s “Trouble” was the only “Voice” performance to earn a multiplier bonus this week. Danielle Bradbery’s “A Little Bit Stronger,” the next best performer, peaked at number twelve.

Below are the final iTunes positions for this week’s “Voice” singles:

I Knew You Were Trouble – Michelle – 4
A Little Bit Stronger – Danielle – 12
Somewhere Only We Know – Michelle – 18
Shake the Sugar Tree – Danielle – 20
Before He Cheats – Sasha – 27
Wagon Wheel – The Swon Brothers – 32
I Remember You – Amber – 33
Crazy – Amber – 34
Ain’t No Way – Sasha – 44
Okie from Muskogee – The Swon Brothers – 49
My Wish – Holly – 79
When God-Fearin’ Women Get the Blues – Holly – 127

For those looking to succeed on “The Voice,” Michelle Chamuel has provided a simple blueprint: sing Taylor Swift’s best pop song, win her approval for the performance and work the crowd into a frenzy.

Chamuel did all three with “I Knew You Were Trouble” on Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” and within a few short hours of the broadcast, she likely has her first iTunes bonus in the bank.

The Team Usher singer’s rendition of Swift’s multi-platinum hit was at number 9 by 2AM, which strongly indicates she will secure a 10x multiplier bonus on the iTunes portion of her vote.

Clarification: The rules suggest that the bonus will only be applied if the single is in the Top 10 when the voting closes at 10AM. That means Chamuel’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” must remain in the top ten for the next seven hours.

No other “The Voice” single had reached the top ten as of press time, although Danielle Bradbery’s “A Little Bit Stronger,” which is currently sitting at number seventeen, appears to have a solid chance of accomplishing the feat.

Chamuel’s “Somewhere Only We Know” and Bradbery’s “Shake the Sugar Tree” follow at 28 and 30, respectively. The next-highest ranking single is Sasha Allen’s rousing “Before He Cheats,” which currently sits at 37. Amber Carrington’s “Crazy” (39) and “I Remember You” (43) follow, besting The Swon Brothers’ “Wagon Wheel” (44), Sasha Allen’s “Ain’t No Way” (51), The Swons’ “Okie from Muskogee” (61) and Holly Tucker’s “My Wish” (92) and “When God-Fearin Women Get the Blues” (155).

Over the past three weeks, Bradbery and Chamuel, who appear locked as the frontrunners to win the competition, have been leading the iTunes charge.
