NBC officially cancelled “Go On” Friday, putting a nail in a fifth sitcom coffin thus far this week.
“Go On” joins “Up All Night,” “Whitney,” “1600 Penn” and “Guys With Kids” on the latest cancellation list. “Parks and Recreation” was renewed for next year, while “Community” and “The New Normal” await news on their fates.
With help from “The Voice,” “Go On,” starring Matthew Perry, initially delivered promising ratings, but that promise quickly turned to disappointment as the season progressed. It could not perform well without lead-in support on Tuesdays and continued to underperform after recently being slotted behind flagship Thursday comedy “The Office.”
