MTV’s “Washington Heights” Premiere Flops in the Ratings

MTV has yet to find a runaway hit to replace “Jersey Shore,” but prior to Wednesday, no launch had bombed.

Through seven episodes, “Catfish” has been a steady performer for MTV, while “BUCKWILD” had least elicited enough curiosity to draw a solid sampling for its premiere.

“Washington Heights” changed all that.

Reviewed considerably better than “BUCKWILD,” “Heights” nonetheless failed to resonate with viewers, attracting a disappointing 0.4 adults 18-49 rating and 756,000 viewers for its opener, notes TVMediaInsights.

Comparable in the 18-49 demo, “Heights” actually attracted a smaller premiere audience than comedy import “The Inbetweeners,” which was canceled after its first season on MTV.
