Mike D’Antoni Resigns from NY Knicks in “Mutual Decision”

Following a six-game skid and season-long criticism (save for a few weeks of “Linsanity”), New York Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni has resigned from the organization.

“It was a mutual decision to no longer coach the Knicks … conflicting visions of the club’s future,” a Yahoo! Sports source said.

Earlier in the day, rumors alleged that a frustrated Carmelo Anthony was seeking a trade out of New York. He nixed those rumors, and as it turns out, it was the other focus of recent media scrutiny who left the building.

Mike Woodson will serve as interim coach. The team plays the Portland Trailblazers Wednesday night.
